Every great and commanding movement in the annals of the world is due to the triumph of enthusiasm. Nothing great was ever achieved without it.
~Ralph Waldo Emerson
As Emerson states… nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm. That’s especially true in the world of business. Look at any successful entrepreneur and you will invariably see someone with a real passion and enthusiasm for their product or service. They will demonstrate that they care a great deal about their customers and their enthusiasm will very often be contagious!
If you’re not passionate and enthusiastic about your business, if you don’t have a real interest in your customers and their problems, then that will become apparent in almost everything that you do.
And… why get into business doing something you don’t enjoy? If you’re going to run your own business, surely you should do something that you love?
In my opinion, business should be fun!
So, when thinking about what type of business to start, or if you’re not excited about what you are currently doing, go back to basics and identify the things you are truly passionate about. Then evaluate if you can build a profitable business around that passion.
Ask yourself… Do lots of other people share my enthusiasm, are there enough people interested in the subject, will those people be willing to spend money?
